The Books That Matter

I am Xandy. Reading a book is not my past time, I make time for it. My To-Read folder is overflowing. And I am always battling with my Currently-Reading folder.

I fell in love with reading ever since time memorial. A good book is a book I will read very slowly just to get every detail; a book that will always be reread; a book with no stupid characters; a book that will make me cry, whine, shout as if I was actually in it; and a book that makes me feel like or be a better person. :D

Slammed (Slammed, #1) - Colleen Hoover It was a SENSATIONAL read. It took me for a great ride through romance, family, friendship, aches and choices. The story is about two people meeting up in the Michigan, Layken facing his father's death but only to face another heartbreak, as for Wil who's got to care for his little brother. These two people love each other but being together was a tough act. The novel do not only emphasize on love, but on life. I felt the intensity of the emotion that each character had. It was a very inspirational read, and each character have taught me a lot. What I really like about this story is the words of the Avett Brothers and writing slammed poetry. It adds the personalization of the story, it's flawed but it just made the story touching and fascinating. Chapter 16 caused me to cry tears of appreciation. Really glad I've read it! *two thumbs up* I'm looking forward to writing my own slammed poetry, too bad my towns don't have clubs that closes off on Thursdays. ;)
